Exploring rhetorical moves in a digital academic genre: A cross-disciplinary study of the highlights section

چکیده
This cross-disciplinary paper explores the ways in which writers promote their research articles highlights section of journals available online as a digital academic genre. A corpus from 300 was randomly selected two major domains knowledge, hard sciences and soft sciences. The contained texts fields (1) Chemistry (2) Computer Science representing (3) Linguistics (4) Management published reputable 2018 2019. analysed terms promotional rhetorical moves based on model developed by researchers using UAM Corpus Tool. results show that despite similarities use moves, for example, Promoting (Move 4) most frequently used move both corpora, there were disciplinary variations section. Whereas science majors give secondary importance to promoting value 2) research, promoted scene study 1) highlights. Analyses cyclical patterns reveal whereas combined with methodological issues 3), showcased well background information related actual research.
